    Duties & Responsibilities

    Medical Science & Computing is searching for a Senior HR Generalist.  This opportunity is a full-time position with MSC and it is on-site in Rockville, Maryland.


    Policies, Procedures, Employment Law Compliance & Recordkeeping:

    • Ensures that all personnel files are kept current and maintained in compliance with state and federal laws, including I-9 forms; on-boarding and benefits paperwork; performance records; FMLA, ADA, STD, LTD, Worker’s Compensation, and Unemployment Insurance claims; and termination documents
    • Coordinates documentation for FMLA, ADA, STD, LTD, Worker’s Compensation, and Unemployment Insurance claims
    • Maintains the Employee Handbook, Policies and Procedures Manuals, and employment posters in the office and off-site as needed
    • Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures

     Payroll, Compensation, Benefits & Reporting:

    • Administers benefits programs; serve as MSC benefits program expert
    • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
    • Generates personnel reports as needed (e.g., attendance, salary, EEO-1 reporting, etc.)

     Talent Management & Employee Relations:

    • Coordinates offer letters, on-boarding, including background checks, payroll/HRIS entry, scheduling and delivery of new hire orientation, and benefits enrollment
    • Oversees and maintains the applicant tracking system (ATS) and on-boarding system
    • Coordinates performance review process

     Support Leadership Team:

    • Researches information for special reports, new concepts and ideas
    • Works independently on assigned special projects
    • Performs related duties as required by management to meet the needs of MSC

     Additional Responsibilities:

    • Ensures confidentiality as it applies to all personnel related matters
    • Provides excellent customer service; communicates courteously and responsively; provides efficient and effective service to the public and co-workers
    • Coordinates logistics for trainings, special events, and meetings
    • Attends webinars, seminars, trainings, and conferences to maintain current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, and HR best practices
    • Performs other duties as assigned



    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Human Resources, or related field highly preferred
    • PHR certification highly preferred

    Expertise & Experience:

    • 3+ years’ relevant and progressively responsible generalist experience in HR administration, compliance, payroll, benefits, compensation, recruiting, employee relations and/or performance management
    • High level of proficiency and accuracy with payroll, HRIS, applicant tracking and other software systems
    • Highly proficient with MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint
    • ADP and iCIMS experience preferred
