    Duties & Responsibilities

    Medical Science & Computing is searching for an experienced Medical Imaging Computational Infrastructure Specialist with extensive experience and expertise in specialized computer systems for medical visualization, volume visualization, 3-d printing, and image acquisition, processing and analysis to support the National Institutes of Health (NIH).  This opportunity is a permanent, full-time position with MSC and is onsite in Rockville, MD. 

    • Application of existing technology to create novel algorithms for analyzing large numbers of chest X-rays and thoracic CTs from patients with tuberculosis.
    • Support the application of artificial intelligence/deep learning techniques to develop novel imaging algorithms.
    • Support for various software packages that will be publicly available.
    • Regular use and support to tools such as Oracle, Solaris, Linux, Windows, Mac, Cisco, Juniper, SAN/NAS, VMware, CUDA

    Requirements

    • Bachelors of Science in Computer Science
    • 20 plus years’ experience with design and development of computer systems for image processing in high performance computing environments, including:
      • virtualization with several flavors of Linux, Windows, and Mac
      • storage arrays
      • cluster management
      • software installation and management
      • GPU computing
      • continuous integration environments
      • network
      • security
      • backup
      • system administration
      • database administration
    • 5 plus years of experience supporting development of the Insight Segmentation and Registration Toolkit (ITK) and SimpleITK
