    Duties & Responsibilities

    Medical Science & Computing is searching for a Linux Administrator – Cloud Centric to support the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is full-time, and it is on-site in Bethesda, MD. 

     

    • Hands-on provisioning/upgrading/maintenance of services, monitoring, and configuration management for NCBI’s cloud solution
    • Understand cloud architectures with respect to production, development and test environments with a requirement to support secure, robust NCBI services. Work closely with internal and external groups to ensure NCBI data and security integrity is being maintained
    • Serve as an administrator for many of NCBI’s cloud solutions; ability to bake cloud images and publish on platforms such as AWS and GCE
    • Take direction from the team lead and work within a team-environment to achieve organizational goals
    • Provide technical solutions to a wide range of problems and user requests through an established trouble ticketing system
    • Work closely with internal and external groups to ensure NCBI data and security integrity is being maintained when using Cloud solutions
    • Provide hands-on problem solving with Developer and DevOps issues within NCBI
