    Duties & Responsibilities

    Medical Science & Computing is searching for a Scientific Project Manager to provide support to the National Institutes of Health (NIH).  This opportunity is a full-time position with MSC and it is on-site in Bethesda, Maryland.

     

    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Strong background in writing and editing; scientific writing preferred. Compose and edit standard program correspondence and surveys (emails, memos, etc.).
    • Assist leadership with tracking the academic progress of students, their progress towards fulfilling program requirements, and serve as a point of contact for faculty access to related materials.
    • Ability to coordinate, implement, and maintain an alumni database to support recruitment efforts and to facilitate career development of existing trainees.
    • Ability to create a data analysis pipeline to analyze and track scientific output using bibliometrics; requires proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and database management software and an understanding of scientific literature databases (e.g. Pubmed).
    • Perform weekly searches for publications, press releases, and media. Organize this information in a database available to staff and trainees.
    • Ability to design and update recruitment, trainee enrichment, and outreach materials.
    • Coordinate the design and maintenance of the website in collaboration with faculty and support staff.
    • Assist efforts of the administrative team to organize and execute program events including interviews, newsletter, seminar series, and guest speakers.
    • Organize the planning of scientific, networking, and social events.
    • Coordinate scientific seminars.
    • Assist in budget tracking and management functions
    • Become proficient in NIH procedures and policies related to purchasing, personnel and travel, in order to assist the existing administrative team when required.

    Requirements

     

    • Master's Degree in biology-related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience is required.
    • Requires proficiency with the Microsoft office suit and database management software, and an understanding of scientific literature databases (e.g. Pubmed).
    • Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
    • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
