    Duties & Responsibilities

    Medical Science & Computing is searching for a Program Assistant to provide support to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is a full-time position with MSC and it is on-site in Bethesda, Maryland.


    • Assistant shall function as the Office Manager for the labs within multiple Sections.
    • The Incumbent will perform advanced administrative tasks such as preparation of domestic and foreign travel authorizations, assembly of personnel packages, credentialing of clinical staff, and other tasks related to the operations of the multiple Sections.
    • The Incumbent shall manage office records in an organized and confidential manner.
    • The Incumbent shall answer calls for the PI’s, maintain the PI’s schedule and calendar, plan appointments and meetings for the PI’s, greet visitors to the office and direct them to the appropriate official.
    • The Incumbent may organize meetings for other Lab staff as needed.The Incumbent shall organize and maintain the office supplies.
    • The Incumbent shall enter purchase requests for the PI’s and staff as needed.
    • The Incumbent shall enter other requests (IT support, building maintenance, etc.) as needed.
    • The Incumbent shall be compliant with all relevant NIH and NIDCR policies, rules and procedures.
    • The Incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned.


    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and the Internet.
    • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and prioritize work in an environment with multiple and conflicting demands.
    • Ability to draft and format written documents.
    • Ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail.
    • Ability to exercise initiative and work independently.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters diplomatically and discreetly.
    • Excellent organizational, leadership, and time management skills.
    • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
