    Duties & Responsibilities

    MSC is currently searching for a ServiceNow Administrator/Developer at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

     

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Gather and document user, process, functional, technical, and integration requirements.
    • Create use cases and product backlog items for incorporation in administration and development work loads.
    • Work closely with business and IT teams to solicit input, plan expansion initiations and prioritize requests,
    • Provide operational end user support in troubleshooting and resolving ServiceNow issues, managing access, generating reports, and completing catalog tasks.
    • Identify system deficiencies and recommend solutions based on user needs and integration requirements.
    • Lead continuous improvement of processes, standards, policies, working methods, and tools.
    • Apply ITIL processes within ServiceNow modules to support ongoing operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Develop custom reports and workflows based on customer specifications.
    • Learn and implement new versions and functionality/features as released with minimal disruption to IT operations.
    • Support data loads, extracts, and migrations as needed.
    • Apply patches and upgrades as released; maintain configuration consistency across environments.
    • Configure application UI and workflows.
    • Develop custom scripts to automate tasks and processes within ServiceNow.
    • Integrate IT tools, new applications, and existing ITSM workflows and tools with ServiceNow using SAML 2.0 and Web services.
    • Code and maintain web- and cloud-based systems, developing solutions that provide usability ad accessibility.
    • Adhere to coding best practices, standards, procedures and techniques.
    • Document technical code and lessons learned.
    • Comply with change management and security management policies and procedures, including preparations for Authority to Operate (ATO) approvals.
    • Develop quality management plans, test items, and scripts for new releases, integrations, and customizations.
    • Perform manual system and integration testing.
    • Create scripts for automating ongoing and regression testing.
    • Document test results, provide analysis, and make go/no-go recommendations.
    • Measure performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

     

    Requirements

     

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
    • 5+ years’ proven experience in ServiceNow administration and development for large organizations, including implementation of key modules and scripting business rules, UI pages, UI macros, etc.
    • ServiceNow certifications: ServiceNow Certified Administrator, Certified Application Developer and/or Certified Implementation Specialist
    • Experience with ServiceNow Orchestration
    • Experience implementing modules for service desk/incident management, service request and service catalog, change management, configuration management, asset management, knowledge management, and problem management; Service Catalog; CMS; MID Server; integrations with LDAP/AD and monitoring/alert tools, and other applications external to ServiceNow
    • ITIL v3 Foundation certification and experience in ITIL-based processes
    • Experience with relevant programming concepts, tools, and languages, including SOAP, REST, SAML 2.0, Java, JavaScript, .Net, HTML, Web Services, Microsoft Visual Studio
    • Experience implementing systems using the Agile/Scrum methodology
    • Must meet all requirements for obtaining and maintaining a Public Trust Clearance

       

    Preferred Qualifications 

    • ITIL Intermediation Qualifications or Expert certification
    • Front-end web development skills (e.g. AngularJS, Bootstrap, HTML5) and experience developing in the ServiceNow Service Portal
    • Experience with ServiceNow within the National Institutes of Health
