    Duties & Responsibilities

    Medical Science & Computing is searching for a Quality Assurance Manger to support one of it grants management contracts.


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Review and recommend improvements to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and instructions for all QA activities, including:
      • Quality Assurance plan
      • systems monitoring
      • internal audit
      • improvement and corrective action plans
    • Implement departmental policies for the following activities:
      • SOP
      • error and accident reports
      • protocol
      • management
      • safety and infection control
    • Review all SOPs and related validation and training documentation prior to implementation. This includes both departmental and section specific SOPs.
    • Confirm that SOPs are in compliance with standards
    • Ensure that there are written procedures for validation to assure that the procedure accomplishes its intended purpose.
    • Maintain an index of all SOPs, master copies, and archives of obsolete versions.
    • Ensure that equipment and maintenance procedures are written and validated such that equipment and ancillary systems are capable of consistently operating within established limits and tolerances. Review the schedules for equipment monitoring, calibration and maintenance.
    • Participate in the development of the safety program for the Department.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive plans and strategies for the internal and external integration of day-to-day and long-range projects, actions and activities for the assigned organization. Such projects and programs may be in support of administrative functions or scientific research activities.
    • Analyze and evaluate, on a quantitative or qualitative basis, the effectiveness of programs or operations in meeting established goals and objectives and analyze program performance data to identify issues and make recommendations for improvement.
    • Perform program evaluation/audits in assigned areas.
    • Analyze, develop criteria for, and evaluate policies and procedures affecting organizational program objectives; analyze and evaluate the capabilities, effectiveness, feasibility and cost of proposed and alternative programs; and analyze the impact of options and recommendations on organizational performance.
    • Research and/or analyze unstable or complex program issues, and, based on conditions and factors that relate to the subject program and related programs, determines what information is required.
    • Compile, assemble, and classify statistics from source materials, computes statistical data, and verifies the authenticity of source material.
    • Review information, reconcile conflicting data, and devise new or modified methods to analyze findings and to develop recommendations and proposals.
    • Perform special studies, which include analyzing data, developing formats to report the results of studies, and recommending alternative courses of action.




    Position Requirements:

    • BS/BA in related field
    • 10+ years’ technical experience and or 6 years QA experience
    • Ability to organize, lead, manage, and interact effectively with other members of senior management; interface with supervisory and laboratory personnel. Enforce policies and practices, while maintaining effective work relationships with all levels of personnel.
    • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
    • Extreme attention to detail.
    • Willingness to take initiative and work independently but is also very efficient working as a member of a team.
